Honored by Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky for its powerful role in delivering life-changing parent education programs during June’s Partner Appreciation Month.
[Lexington, KY] — As part of Partner Appreciation Month, observed in June, The Nest was proudly recognized as a vital partner in child abuse prevention across Kentucky. With continued support and funding from Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky (PCAK), The Nest delivers trusted parent education programs to families across Fayette, Anderson, Boone, Bourbon, Boyle, Bracken, Clark, Estill, Franklin, Garrard, Grayson, Hardin, Harrison, Jefferson, Jessamine, Laurel, Lincoln, Madison, Mercer, Nicholas, Powell, Scott, and Woodford counties.
For more than 30 years, PCAK has led a network of Parent Education Providers committed to strengthening families through education. This longstanding commitment reflects the belief that safe and healthy parenting is central to launching children into successful adult lives—and is the very foundation of preventing child maltreatment.
“The Nest is proud to collaborate with PCAK, partners, and community members across the state to prevent child abuse and neglect. Our Parenting Education classes highlight caregiver’s resilience and provide the information, support, and resources we all need to build nurturing, resilient families. Together, we can give children the safe, caring communities they deserve to grow up in.”
— Claire FitzSimmonds, Director of Parenting and Intimate Partner Violence
PCAK’s Parent Education Providers offer free or low-cost parenting classes, family support services, and educational resources that help caregivers build the knowledge and confidence needed to raise children in safe, nurturing homes.
“During Partner Appreciation Month, we celebrated organizations like The Nest who bring our mission to life in communities across the state,” said Jill Seyfred, Executive Director of Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky. “Thanks to their dedication and our partnership, more families have access to the tools they need to thrive.”
