Family Enrichment Center, Inc. Celebrated as Key Partner in Child Abuse Prevention, Funded by Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky
Honored by Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky for its powerful role in delivering life-changing parent education programs during June’s Partner Appreciation Month.
[Bowling Green, KY] — At a time when support of families has never been more important, Family Enrichment Center, Inc. (FEC) is being recognized as a vital, frontline partner in the fight against child abuse and neglect.
As part of Partner Appreciation Month, observed in June, Prevent Child Abuse Kentucky (PCAK) honored FEC for its powerful role in delivering life-changing parent education programs—programs that help break cycles of trauma and build stronger, safer communities.
With PCAK funding and support, for more than 25 years FEC has been able to provide free parenting classes, family support services, and educational resources in more than the 10 counties in our region which includes Allen, Barren, Butler, Edmonson, Hart, Logan, Metcalfe, Monroe, Simpson, and Warren. We serve many other Kentucky counties and states through Zoom meetings which allow us to reach hundreds of caregivers each year with tools they need to raise safe, healthy children.
“Our prime purpose in life is to help others. And if you cannot help them, at the very least, don’t hurt them.”
— Dalai Lama
For more than 30 years, PCAK has led a network of Parent Education Providers committed to strengthening families through education. This longstanding commitment reflects the belief that safe and healthy parenting is central to launching children into successful adult lives and is the very foundation of preventing child maltreatment.
“Family Enrichment Center, Inc. builds the kind of lasting relationships with families that truly change lives,” said Jill Seyfred, Executive Director of PCAK. “While we provide funding and support, it’s their day-to-day commitment—the boots on the ground—that makes prevention across the Commonwealth possible. We were proud to celebrate them during Partner Appreciation Month and continue to honor their work every day of the year.”
Families and professionals in the Barren River Region and surrounding area who are interested in more information about upcoming parenting classes or referrals can contact C. Denise Lambrianou at parenteducation@fecbg.com.
PCAK celebrated its Partners in Prevention throughout the month of June—and continues to do so every day—because prevention starts with community.
